Gansbaai Elim Road closed

There are currently road works taking place on the road between Gansbaai and Elim, through Baardskeerdersbos. We are very excited about the development this new tarred road will bring to the area. Please have a look at our map to consider an alternative route.

Of the Black Oystercatcher, a watermill and an old clock

After a recent visit to Black Oystercatcher, here is what Rory Alexander thought:

"Feeling lighter having walked off our breakfast we got back on the road and travelled towards Elim stopping along the way at the Black Oystercatcher boutique winery. Dirk Human, the owner and winemaker, was one of the pioneers to establish vineyards in the maritime ward of Elim. Dirk took us through a tasting of some of the wines of which my favourite was the White Pearl..."

Beautiful Autumn Colours in the Vineyards

Autumn at Black Oystercatcher

As the days are growing shorter and winter is fast approaching, we are enjoying the beautiful autumn days here at Black Oystercatcher. With the busy harvest season behind us, this time of the year is blending all our new wines. On the farm things have started to slow down, in preparation for the vines' winter sleep.

Swallows Renovations

These swallows have been coming back to their house on the veranda at Black Oystercatcher for 3 years and this year they decided to do some renovations and added another room.

Season 2012

Black Oystercatcher Season 2012

We have had a wonderful and very busy season!
Thank you to everyone who came to visit!

Here's some comments from Elsa Wessels:
